Trapped inside

Is it just me or are the mosquitoes BAD right now?  I took Harper for a walk on Saturday morning and there was a SWARM following us the whole time!  I didn't take my eyes off of Harper to make sure she didn't get bit, but I ended up with six bites!  (Add to that the one I got at Target on Friday and the one I got in the parking lot at the doctor today.)  And we were supposed to go to the zoo with a friend and her boys on Wednesday, but we called it off because of the darn mosquitoes.  So now we are trapped inside until this infestation goes away...

...although lately I not only feel trapped inside, I feel trapped to the couch.  I think Harper is going through yet another growth spurt.  She seems to nurse all. the. time.  And I can only get her down for a nap if she falls asleep while eating or if she falls asleep while riding in the car.  Can anyone else relate?  Am I doing something wrong?  She's definitely getting enough to eat.  Her diapers prove that.  Any suggestions on how to get her to nap more consistently?  I feel like there are some days that she doesn't get a single good nap in.  And no nap = fussy baby + extra tired mom.

Anyway, here's a picture of Harper before our {awful} walk on Saturday.  Jason got her all ready while I got dressed.

I guess I'll also mention that Jason went for a run while I walked with Harper and then we switched and I ran home.  I ran one mile and my legs felt like jello the rest of the day.  And my legs were sore on Sunday.  Seriously.  One mile.  And it was slow.  Sigh.

One month old

It's amazing how time continues to fly by!  I can't believe Harper is already one month old!  Well, really 5 weeks old today.  She's growing so fast, too!  She weighed 9 pounds, 8.5 ounces at her 4 week appointment (60th percentile) and was 22 inches long (75th percentile).  That's almost two pounds more than her birth weight.  I've been exclusively breastfeeding and she eats very well.  She poops very well, too.  I've read that breastfed babies stop pooping so much around four weeks... I'm hoping that this happens soon.

I'm really getting used to being sleep deprived.  Not that I wouldn't welcome a full night of sleep :)  Harper actually slept 7 hours straight on Sunday night (8 pm to 3 am); however, this was after NOT sleeping all day Sunday!  I'd much rather get up during the night than to have a fussy baby all day long!  She is sleeping for longer stretches at night though so hopefully 7 hours will be the norm pretty soon.  Right now it's more like 3-4 hours and then 2 or so hours.  Harper really is a good baby, and Jason and I are really enjoying getting to know her :)

One month old!

Tummy time!

Harper naps in my arms after eating every afternoon

Thanks Stacy for the sleep giraffe!

Love her expression here looking at her daddy!

 So sweet
