May

May has continued to be a very busy month!  It's hard to believe that it's already almost June!  Jason and I both took a full week off of work a couple weeks ago to travel to Charleston and then to Grapevine/Colleyville for Bryan & Tori's wedding, and we spent this weekend working on Harper's room.

Charleston
Charleston is a very charming city with so much history, beautiful architecture, homes, and iron gates and also delicious food!  The shrimp and grits and pecan pie at Magnolia's and the peanut butter pie at Poogan's Porch were to die for!  I have plans to look for a peanut butter pie recipe to try to make myself.  I have a lot of plans right now though...

Bryan & Tori's Wedding
After one day back at home (and a sad goodbye to Kellie), we drove to Grapevine for Bryan and Tori's wedding.  They had a very nice wedding and Tori looked beautiful!  We also enjoyed visiting with family and friends that we hardly ever see.

Memorial Weekend
This weekend has been no less busy.  Jason had Friday off in addition to Memorial Day and spent that day painting Harper's room.  Then on Saturday we finally got to meet my newest cousin, Madilyn, when my cousins Paul & Marlo stopped by for a quick visit and lunch.  We also had Harper's furniture delivered, put her crib together and hung her name on the wall (which was a lot harder than putting the crib together!).  I can't even begin to tell you how much fun Jason and I are having getting her room ready.  I didn't realize Jason would enjoy it as much as me!

@ 25 weeks
Sunday was spent cleaning house and running a ton of errands (one of which was to Bering's in Houston- love this place!  Jason and I both can't believe we haven't been there sooner!).  Jason's also been the handyman this weekend- repairing a broken valance for the blinds in Harper's room, repairing his Blu-ray player that was messed up when we tried to update it with new software, and right now he is replacing our garbage disposal.  No matter how much we get done, the list of things to-do just keeps growing!

Baby Bumps

It's been awhile since I've posted any baby bump pictures and I know my mom and Megan would like to see some so here are the pictures from the past few weeks.  If you think my face looks puffy at 24 weeks then you should have seen my feet and ankles!!  All of the traveling we did last week really got to them.  Luckily, my feet are looking much better since we've been back home and I've been able to rest more.  However, my ankles still disappear by the end of the day...

In the meantime...

There are so many things I need to post about - ultrasound and baby bump pics, trip to Charleston, going away party for Kellie, Bryan and Tori's wedding....  I really hope to get caught up by the end of the week.  In the meantime, here is a picture of the gang at Kellie's going away party.  I just love how colorful everyone is!  And Kellie, we miss you!

Lately

Jason and I have been pretty busy lately.  I'm going to use bullet format to list everything, Cathy style :)

  • First, Jason and I ordered the crib and dresser for Harper's room.  To our surprise, the crib and dresser are in stock and ready to be delivered (oops!).  I did finally get her room and closet cleaned out (we had been using it as a storage room).  I was excited to find out that there is a home decor consignment shop in Pearland so I made a big drop off there, a smaller drop off at Goodwill, and a few friends are benefiting from this purge as well :)  We are hoping to get the room painted and have the furniture delivered Memorial weekend.
  • We also registered at Babies R Us, Baby's 1st Furniture (babys1st.com), and Pottery Barn Kids.  For those of you who have young ones and look at my registries, let me know if you have any suggestions....
  • Jason and I traveled to San Antonio for a wedding a couple weekends ago.  It was a beautiful wedding and Katie was such a beautiful bride.

  • Our friends Erin and David also had a Garden Party that same weekend.  I don't have a picture of the food table, but it was a very delicious spread!
  • Jason was finally able to attend our monthly dinner club.  Each month we rotate houses and cook for everyone.  Stacy made some delicious fajitas and margaritas (or so I was told) in honor of Cinco de Mayo.
  • Jason also took his last exam on Saturday and is done for the semester!  I'm very impressed with how well he handled 9 hours of graduate classes, a new (and pretty demanding) promotion at his job, training and running in the Texas Independence Relay, and me :)  He has about a month off before summer school starts and then only two semesters to go!  I honestly don't know how he does it.  I like to think I help though...
That's it for now.  I have had a couple of ultrasounds and doctor appointments recently.  Harper is looking great, but more on that in the next post...
