Maternity Pictures

Jason and I had some professional pictures taken last week and the photographer posted a few of the pictures on her blog.  You can see them here.  I was hesitant about having the pictures done, but I'm so glad that I did!  I can't wait to see the rest of them, and I really can't wait for Harper's first photo session!!

In baby news... I went to the doctor yesterday (37 weeks, 5 days) and I am not dilated at all.  I know this can change quickly, but I have a feeling that Harper will not be early (and I am not planning on being induced early).  I did finally realize that I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions for a few weeks now, but I didn't know that was what I was feeling!  I thought it was just Harper moving and stretching.  Hopefully I'll know when real labor contractions start!

In other news... Jason and I FINALLY joined the church that we've been going to for, oh, like 6 or so years!  Now comes the pressure to find a Sunday School class and get involved!

Harper's Room

I thought I'd post some pictures of Harper's room now that it is all ready for her!  Her room is a little small for a chair, but we put a swivel/glider/recliner in the study very close by.

I also thought I'd post some belly bump pictures for comparison (and to make Megan happy ;) ).

Randoms

A few random bits about Harper and this pregnancy...
  • I had an ultrasound at 33 weeks, 3 days and her estimated weight was 5 pounds, 2 ounces.
  • I then had an ultrasound at 34 weeks, 3 days- a f/u with the perinatologist- and her estimated weight was 5 pounds, 10 ounces.  So it appears that she is growing half a pound a week like she should be... it also appears that she will be at least 8 pounds if she makes it to her due date.  Thankfully, the single umbilical artery has had NO affect on her growth or development!
  • The ultrasound also showed that she has hair!  Yay!  (Although it doesn't mean that it is a lot of hair.)
  • She gets the hiccups daily.  Sometimes it's 4 or 5 times a day.
  • For the last couple of months, she has been head down with her body on my right side and her feet pointed to my left side.
  • She is constantly entertaining me with her moving and stretching...
  • I've felt really good throughout this pregnancy.  It's been a lot easier than I thought it would be!  That being said, I have a tendency to over-do it.  I had some very bad groin pain for several days after Jason and I cleaned house a couple weeks ago (I blame it on the vacuuming).  Luckily, I won't have to do any more big cleaning for awhile :)  More on that at another time.
  • My ankles and feet get very swollen by the end of the day.  Both my mom and sister experienced this during their pregnancies, too.  Thanks genetics.
  • I miss running.  A lot.
  • I have not had any big cravings (in fact, I can NEVER decide what I want to eat), but the second I hear Jason pop open a can of Dr. Pepper I MUST HAVE SOME OF IT!
That's all I can think of for now... hopefully this is a start to being a better blogger.  We'll see.
